Fishing with St. James

August 18, 2019

August 18, 2019

This past week, Sheila Gawrych began her position as our
part time secretary. Sheila’s responsibilities include office hospitality,
Faith Formation secretary, ministry scheduling and
other office work. Brenda Marshall has worked in this position
for the last two years and had worked here for five years previously.
I am grateful for Brenda’s excellent work for our parish,
it has been an honor to have her as part of our ministry
team. Please extend a warm welcome to Sheila as she joins our
staff at St. James.

The Feast of the Assumption of Mary is an especially important
feast for people of Vietnamese decent. I spoke at the
Holy Day Masses about the appearance of Mary at LaVang
Vietnam in 1798. Consider praying this prayer in honor of Our
Lady of LaVang. Mother Mary, Our Lady, present us to Jesus,
Our Saviour. Mother Mary, lead all souls to Jesus, Our Dear
Lord who alone redeems and saves. Dear Jesus, free us from
the bondage of sin and govern us with Your Love. Amen.

I am Joseph, your brother. Fr. Joe Hannappel

Mission Statement

St. James parish is established to be a sign of the presence of the Kingdom of God, to spread the Good News of the Gospel and to minister and serve others. As Catholics we believe in Jesus' dying and rising and in our call to celebrate the Sacraments and proclaim the Gospel.
