St James’ Annual Church Festival is held the first Sunday in October each year, at the Kearney Catholic High School. A wonderful thanksgiving meal is served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There are Silent Auction items, Bake Sale, Cake Walk, Craft Sale, Bingo and a Carnival for the kids! 

  • If you would like to donate an item for any of these activities, please call the parish office at 234-5536.

  • Oktoberfest is always the first Sunday in October. We provide games for all ages, a bake sale, a silent auction, prize drawings, and a turkey meal with all the trimmings.

  • The Oktoberfest Committee members pre-sold the Oktoberfest meal tickets after all Masses on September 21-22 and September 28-29 in the Gathering Space. Ticket prices were: Adults-$8.00; Children (ages 6-12) $5.00; and Children ages 5 & under are free. We can accept check or cash only.

  • The Oktoberfest Mailing has been mailed! Please return your tickets, donations and forms to the box in front of the Parish Office The sign-up sheet has a variety of ways you can help and volunteer. You can also complete the form on-line using Sign-up Genius.

  • Do you enjoy crafting of any kind? We would love to showcase your talents! Start your projects now and drop them off at the church with your name and pricing. Our Oktoberfest Craft Room was very successful last year and we are excited to see what items we will have for sale this coming year!

  • Can you donate a new item or a gift basket for the Silent Auction? Please bring your items to the Parish Office with your name attached before October 4th. Be creative with your baskets...Make it about Fun...Make it about Education...Make it about Family Time!
