Quid Agis - What's Happening

Quid Agis - What’s Happening

As we continue our Lenten journey toward the Holy Triduum, I would like to introduce a new feature to our website. Since I still have a fondness for Latin phrases, I have chosen the title “Quid Agis”- which is Latin for “What’s Happening”- for this feature. Initially, I am planning on a biweekly feature including news, views, and thank you’s from the Parish Office. Feedback is always welcome.

The liturgy committee is very busy preparing for the Holy Triduum. Everything from the music to the banners and decorations have been planned. They have even refined the method of Baptism by submersion using the new baptismal font. The Catechumens and Candidates are finishing their final steps toward full membership in the Church. I would encourage you to attend the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday, April 15. The Easter fire will be lit at 8 PM and services will begin at 8:30 PM. There will be two services on Easter Sunday at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM

It always amazes me the dedication and ingenuity of the parishioners of St. James. We had a good response to the Stewardship sign up, but we are always in need of additional disciples. If you wish to sign up, you are welcome to do so at any time. Simply contact the church office and let us know your preferences. I am in the process of completing the committee descriptions for the Parish Council and also for the website. You will be able to reference those to aid in your decision on discipleship. Also note that there has been a series of bulletin inserts describing various programs and committees at St. James. We are encouraging everyone learn more about their parish.
