                              Life Giving Fish

Please consider participating in the Monday, January 23rd Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children, in your prayer or by your presence. Please see the bulletin announcement. The Knights of Columbus have also organized the “One Rose, One Life” collection, supporting Culture of Life organizations and events throughout the state of Nebraska.

Along with these important activities supporting the lives of others includes contributing to our national and international collections like this weekend’s collection for the Church in Latin America. I hope we continue to pray and work for the legal protection of children in the womb, children and adults who are faced with poverty and other economic and cultural hardships, immigrants, refugees, people who are citizens and non-citizens alike.

A pro-life stance incorporates a consistent ethic of life for people at every stage of life. It also means being pro-earth and pro-environment. It is important that we “Care For Our Common Home” as Pope Francis writes about in “Laudato Si'.” Pope Francis addresses "every person living on this planet" for an inclusive dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet. Pope Francis calls the Church and the world to acknowledge the urgency of our environmental challenges and to join him in embarking on a new path. This encyclical is written with both hope and resolve, looking to our common future with candor and humility. You can find more about all these prolife issues on the Bishop’s website usccb.org.

I am Joseph your brother! Fr. Joe Hannappel
