Questions and answers about online giving:
Is the WeShare site secure?
Yes. You don’t need to worry about your personal or banking information getting compromised. Check out WeShare’s privacy policies, compliance and security here: http://www.4lpi.com/church-online-giving/security/
Does WeShare cost anything to use?
To you, the user, no. But it does take a small percentage of your donation in order to operate.
Knowing that a small percentage of my donation does not get to St. James, is there a preferred method of donation?
The no-cost method of digital donation is bank routing through electronic funds transfer. This cost the church and you nothing. If you download the attached EFT form and return to us, your bank account will be authorized to be charged in the frequency and amount you indicate. There are no fees associated with this, as there are for credit cards or through WeShare.
When the collection basket passes me at Mass, I feel like people look at me because I’m not dropping anything in – but I’m giving online. Does anyone else feel that way?
Bless you! But Mass collection time is judgment-free. We think the more people utilize digital giving, the more awareness that the envelope at collection-time is not the only indication of one’s giving. If you really feel scrutinized, drop your empty weekly envelope in.
I have guests who visit me (Or, I have a special occasion with guests like a wedding, funeral or baptism) and my guests would like to contribute to St. James to honor the occasion. What’s the best way to do that?
The WeShare site is perfect for this: With the convenience of a credit card. Also remember that a check can be delivered to our office, or to you, to give to the office.
